How will Flynn fare with hard-to-please Scottish business community?

From a business and economic perspective, the big focus post-election was always going to be on who would succeed Kate Forbes in the economy role.

That question was answered this afternoon when First Minister John Swinney announced that Stephen Flynn, the SNP’s former Westminster leader, would be taking on that mantle.

He is not of course assuming the exact role of Ms Forbes, who was deputy first minister and Cabinet secretary for economy and Gaelic.

Mr Flynn will be Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Tourism and Transport.

However, he will by virtue of his economy role, like Ms Forbes before him, be the principal point of focus for a Scottish business community which has proved hard to........
