POSITIVE VIBES: The good in learning what you don’t know
As I believe I mentioned last week, our great-nephew Felipe, his mom Natalia, and his father Erick spent 10 days with us as Felipe toured many upstate New York colleges.
I learned there was a lot I thought I knew that I didn’t know. I also learned I had some things that I seemed to know in the ’70s that somehow have gotten twisted over the years.
I also learned some cool new stuff.
They say the more you know the more you realize you don’t know. Which I found to be true. They also say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. But I hope this old dog was able to learn a new trick or two. I certainly learned some new information.
We started the tour at Cornell University, a campus I used to be very familiar with. Now, I’m truly only familiar with the Food Science Department. I did learn that for some reason Cornell seems more uphill than it did in the ’80s, when I spent way more time on campus. There are also more very cool buildings but way less on-campus........
