As preparations intensify for the NATO Leaders’ Summit scheduled for 7–8 July 2026 in Ankara, U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to travel to Türkiye accompanied by a large official delegation.

Several Turkish media outlets have reported that the U.S. delegation could include around 1,000 personnel, reflecting the extensive logistical, diplomatic, military, security, and media support typically associated with a presidential overseas visit. However, neither the U.S. nor the Turkish government has officially confirmed the size of the delegation.

Etimesgut Air Base Expected to Support Presidential Arrival

According to Turkish media reports, Etimesgut Air Base has undergone runway and infrastructure improvements in preparation for the summit, enabling it to accommodate large military and government aircraft. Although official flight plans have not been released, the facility is widely expected to play an important role in receiving high-level delegations.

Helicopter Transportation Expected to Enhance Security

Security experts anticipate that President Trump will rely extensively on Marine One helicopter transportation while in Ankara, consistent with established U.S. presidential security procedures during overseas visits.
