The scaffolding outside Nationwide in Beccles on New Market has finally been removed, following a turbulent period that included a ram raid, an unexpected nesting bird, and the arrival of a busy Sunday market attracting crowds of up to 1,000.

The structure has been in place since March 4, when thieves drove a stolen digger into the building to tear out the cash machine, leaving the branch badly damaged.
