RAF Barnham is one of several Ministry of Defence sites under consideration by the Home Office to help reduce reliance on hotel accommodation.

It is submitted an application for the base as part of a broader effort to close hotels currently used to house asylum seekers.

The proposed scheme could see 3,750 asylum seekers accommodated across sites in Suffolk, Bicester in Oxfordshire, and Linton-on-Ouse in North Yorkshire.
