Farm mental health charity sees worrying rise in calls from stressed farmers

YANA (You Are Not Alone) - which operates across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire - says it has fielded a surge in calls in recent weeks and months.

There is not unifying theme to the calls but it does appear that farmers are under increasing stress.

Chair of trustees Tom Streeter - an Essex arable farmer based at Harps Farm in Great Hallingbury near Bishop's Stortford - said this year call numbers were high at a point where they are normally lower.
