Plans to redevelop Seacroft Camping Park in East Runton with a range of new features have been approved by North Norfolk District Council.

The bid, submitted by the Caravan and Motorhome Club last summer, will see five new pitches on the site and moving the existing play area and creating a new multi-use games area (MUGA).

It also included demolishing the toilet block and replacing it with a new one, a site manager's pod and an extension to the bar and restaurant building on the site off Cromer Road.

The company said in its planning documents that the works would "allow the growth of an established touring facility which makes a significant contribution to the local economy".

It described the existing play area as "in poor condition and causes numerous health and safety issues on site" and said the new one will comprise a mix of equipment.

The documents added that the toilet block is "nearing the end of its life" which is why it applied to tear it down and build a new one to offer a "more efficient arrangement".

The council's planning officers approved the bid and said: "The proposed development will not negatively impact residential amenity and will not alter the character or appearance of the area, considering the extent of the work and the current screening."

However, several conditions have been imposed with the plans.

This includes one that said the use of the MUGA and play are should only be between 8am to 8pm every day to minimise noise disturbances for neighbours.

The Seacroft Club Campsite has been functioning on the site near Cromer since the 1980s.

It features 108 pitches that include a combination of all-weather, grass camping options, along with a swimming pool, bar/restaurant, and a children's play area.
