Former Second World War airfield may be turned into new solar farm
Pathfinder Clean Energy (PACE) has submitted proposals the create the facility on farmland by Abbey Road, Flixton, near Bungay.
The proposed site, which is south of the A143, is a former airfield, RAF Bungay, which was used as a bomber base by the United States Eighth Air Force during the war.
The land is currently used for arable farming with part of the site crossed by disused runways.
In a leaflet, the developers said the proposed development would create enough renewable energy for 12,000 homes.
It comes amid a glut of proposals for solar farms across East Anglia, as the country tries to hit ambitious net zero targets.
