And now a section of the scenic waterway will be taken over by dozens of swimmers after the region's only lido announced it will be launching a wild river swim.

Beccles Lido and its new event company, BLUE Events, has organised a 12km swim from Burgh St Peter to Beccles on Sunday, June 29.

The pool has been involved in triathlon events for the last 12 years and has launched aquathlon and aquabike options for this year.

But the team wanted to organise another large-scale event that "would bring more people to Beccles".
