Debbie Greenard, of Hartismere Family Of Schools, had submitted plans to add a new classroom on the first floor and a stairwell at Somerleyton Primary School in February.

The proposal also included moving the staff room and expanding another classroom at the school, as well as providing updated fire proofing measures.

In a statement, the applicant said: "Updating the school's facilities demonstrates a commitment to providing quality education within a historic setting, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of the community and enabling the school to remain relevant and vibrant."
