A jury of seven men and five women have been hearing evidence in the case of Raymond Williams, who has gone on trial for the murder of Tania Williams.

It is said he was "consumed by jealousy" and unable to come to terms with her new life as a single woman.

The body of the 49-year-old mother of four was found "lying in a pool of blood" near her home in Catherine Gardens, Thorpe St Andrew, before police were called at 11.41pm on January 17 this year.

It was after her throat had been repeatedly cut.

On Wednesday, jurors at Norwich Crown Court were taken through the sequence of events on January 17 leading up to Ms Williams' death and the arrest of the defendant in the early hours of the following morning.

Jurors had been told by Charles Myatt, prosecuting, that Williams had not come to terms with the single life his estranged wife was living after they separated the previous year.

He said Williams followed Ms Williams "around the bars of Norwich city centre" in "something of a cat-and-mouse game" as she went on a night out on her own.
