Adena Taylor described living in an "unimaginable nightmare" following the killing of her son, Kalvin.

The 19-year-old was from London but had been recruited into a county lines gang and was murdered at a flat in Mile Cross by Leon Bangura, who worked for a rival gang.

His body was found on a sofa at the Lefroy Road property around a week later, after police received a tip-off.

Bangura was last week handed a life sentence with a minimum term of 31 years - reduced to 29 years and 153 days in prison due to time already served in custody.

At the sentencing, a statement was read from Ms Taylor in which she said her distress at her son's murder was made worse because she did not have the opportunity to see his body, because of its state of decomposition.

She said: "To add to my distress over situation when I was given the opportunity to see Kalvin at the chapel of rest within the hospital, due to the fact that Kalvin had been left eight days after he had been killed meant that he had decomposed to such a degree that I was unable to physically see my son in the chapel of rest."

She also described how she and her daughter, Kalvin's sister, had been forced to move up to Norwich for the duration of his killer's trial, with her daughter enrolled in a local school.
