The new owner of the Blakeney property had been expected to be revealed during the corporation's Comic Relief coverage on BBC One last Friday.

However, Omaze and the BBC decided to postpone the announcement in the wake of an investigation by North Norfolk District Council which found the house broke planning rules.

Instead, Omaze will reveal the winner this week.

A BBC spokeswoman said: "The BBC has protocols for assessing whether or not to put a member of the public on television and duty of care is our top priority.........
