As well as being able to demonstrate truly disruptive innovation, businesses entering this award will need to show the impact on the environment, scalability of the scheme, collaboration with stakeholders and measurable change.

Archie Ainslie, vice president – head of business development at sponsor Cadeler, said as well as “tangible evidence of a game-changing innovation which has disrupted the industry and driven a step change in reducing carbon emissions” he is hoping to see “real enthusiasm for entrants’ products and positive business growth”.

It could be any type of innovation, but it needs to be new or a first for the industry, with “clear evidence of the product or service changing the landscape from a ‘clean and green’ perspective”, he added.
