Former NatWest bank in market town to be transformed into flat

The branch shut its doors in August 2023, citing declining customer numbers and a shift to online banking.

The building has been left vacant ever since, with the inside gutted and the ATM on the wall removed.

A planning application was put forward by Ms Seema Jand to give the property a new lease of life.

This involves the creation of a flat on the first floor, with a bedroom, kitchen, living space and toilet all included.

The development will also see alterations being made to the ground floor to create an updated office space.

A design and access statement said the proposals would "not result in a detrimental external impact on neither the host building nor the wider street scene".

The statement added they will benefit the site in terms of maintenance, refurbishment and increasing the economic viability.

The application can be viewed in full on the North Norfolk District Council planning portal, using the reference: LA/25/2160.
