Council backs campaign to get better cash access in market town

Fakenham was identified by Link as having "some deficiency in cash access services" following the closures of multiple banks.

The likes of NatWest, HSBC and Barclays have all left the town, with only Nationwide in the Market Place remaining.

Link's assessment said a hub was not needed and suggested "increased capacity at an assisted cash service".

But North Norfolk District Council has urged the ATM network to reconsider its decision.
