New fencing set to help protect one of the UK’s rarest seabirds
As part of major efforts to protect little terns and help boost their numbers at a key breeding site in Suffolk, new fencing is set to be installed on a beach.
Two fenced-off areas will be installed to protect nesting little terns, ringed plovers, oystercatchers and avocets - ensuring they can nest safely.
The RSPB said it wanted to reduce disturbance from people and dogs over the sensitive breeding months for the birds at Kessingland, near Lowestoft.
