A Reform candidate standing in next month's Norfolk elections has raised eyebrows after an image emerged of him posing naked.

Richard Eminson, who is contesting both the city and county council seats in Lakenham, posted the material on his Facebook account.

The image shows him completely naked, covering his genitals with his hands. In another video clip, he strips off his top while being sprayed with a hose, with the caption comparing him to Pamela Anderson.

However, his social media activity may have landed him in hot water with Reform because the candidate also posted praise for the far-right activist Tommy Robinson, calling him an "icon" and posing for a selfie with him.

The party has tried to distance itself from Mr Robinson and his supporters. Nigel Farage has said that the controversial figure is "not what we need" and has consistently refused to welcome him into the party.

The party said it is investigating Mr Eminson's posts.

Former airline steward Mr Eminson, who refers to himself as 'Dicky', posted the material under the pseudonym 'Dick Emii'.

In one post, he is pictured alongside Mr Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, at a public event.

The accompanying caption asks why figures including Donald Trump, Mr Robinson, Katie Hopkins, Nigel Farage and Lucy Connolly are labelled far right extremists, describing them all as "icons”.

"Why are icons like Donald Trump, Tommy Robinson, Katie Hopkins, Nigel Farage and Lucy Connolly called far right extremists?" he wrote.

Mr Robinson founded the English Defence League and has multiple criminal convictions including fraud, assault and contempt of court.

Mrs Hopkins was permanently banned from Twitter and had a radio show terminated after describing migrants as "cockroaches" and "feral humans".

Mrs Connolly was sentenced to 31 months in prison in 2024 after posting a message in the immediate aftermath of the Southport stabbings calling for hotels housing asylum seekers to be "set alight".

A separate post uploaded by Mr Eminson features an AI-generated image of Winston Churchill pointing a gun at prime minister Sir Keir Starmer, captioned: "I said fight them on the beaches, not greet them you traitor."

When approached, Mr Eminson declined to comment on his social media activity.

On the apparent endorsement of Mr Robinson and others, he said: "It's all in the post. If there's something wrong with that narrative, that's fine.

"You've got the photographs, you've got the narrative, you've got the text. You've got all the information - run the piece. I'm not bothered."

Election rivals claim his social media posts show the poor standard of vetting carried out by Reform.

Carli Harper, who is the president of the Norwich Labour group and an existing city councillor in Lakenham, said: "Clearly Reform's vetting process has failed again and they have selected someone with extreme, violent views.

“They should now drop this candidate and disown him. We know they have scrubbed and sanitised many of their candidates' social media accounts, so you do have to wonder what else they have hidden and turned a blind eye to."

Kay Mason Billig, the Tory leader at County Hall, added: "Oh dear, that's embarrassing for Reform. Perhaps they should be vetting their candidates more carefully."

Mr Eminson was born in Southport before moving to London where he spent time working on the shop floor at Harrods before a period as cabin crew with EasyJet.

He spent seven years in Brighton, where he and his partner, Stuart Bramley, operated Dicks Dustbusters, a cleaning business they closed upon leaving the south coast before relaunching it in Norwich at the start of this year.

He describes himself in an online profile as "likeable and approachable", and says he made the move to Norwich after he “fell in love with the people and relaxed vibe”.

Norfolk is no stranger to naked politicians.

Last year, Lib Dem candidate Connor Rouse won a seat on North Norfolk District Council after an appearance on Naked Attraction, a Channel 4 dating show where contestants try and find a romantic match while wearing no clothes.
