The comments from the Reform pair - which come as other emergency services also reveal their guidance to staff ahead of the event - follow the constabulary's announcement that uniformed officers would be banned from taking part in Pride for the second year running. 

The force issued the edict for the first time last year after a High Court judgement ruled that a uniformed presence was unlawful because it broke the police's legal duty to remain neutral on political and social issues. 

Officers working the event had previously spent many years wearing facepaint and dancing alongside attendees. 

The force however, has declined to comment on what disciplinary action uniformed officers that break rank and take part in the event may face.
