Banham Zoo has released northern pool frog tadpoles and froglets into the wild for the second year running, in a long-term bid to restore a species once declared extinct in the UK.

The young frogs were reared from frogspawn in a purpose-built, biosecure facility at the zoo before undergoing health checks and being released in mid-September.
