Mundesley beat West Runton in the final of an annual vote held by North Norfolk District Council on Facebook.

The victory means it dethroned West Runton as reigning champion, which had won for the last three years running.

Beaches are pitted against each other in a knockout tournament in a quest to be named the best in the area.

It received 857 votes in the final compared to West Runton's 478 votes.

Mundesley is worth visiting in autumn for peaceful coastal walks, crisp sea air and its wide sandy beach, colourful huts and village cafés.
