Cocktail bar among finalists for major award just weeks after opening
Birch, in Woburn Court, tucked away in a quiet spot in Guildhall Hill, is up against nine other businesses across Norfolk to be crowned to county's best bar in the Muddy Stiletto Awards.
The awards are reader-voted and celebrate independent businesses across the country.

The bar opened on February 19 after a four-month transformation, which saw it taken from an old wine cellar to a state-of-the-art listening lounge - complete with a cocktail bar and DJ decks.
Business partners George Colley and Natty Crothers, who are behind Yard, Tallow, Brick and The Weavers Arms, teamed up with Richard O'Brien at The Cottage to bring their shared vision to life.
It also offers rotisserie chicken and only takes walk-ins in line with the policy operating at Tallow, Brick and Yard.

Since finding out that they have placed as a finalist, Mr O'Brien said: "This is really great news as we have just recently opened up.
"It's been really busy, probably busier than we expected it to be, so it's great going forward, and we also have our new cocktail menu launching next week, so there are exciting times ahead."

The furniture in the bar is all handmade by carpenters at Fitzroy Crafted, who worked on site with the team for more than three months.
There is a main bar to the front of the venue and a restaurant with DJ decks and lounge seating in a room at the back of the site.
The bar is up against two other spots in Norwich - J Doe & Co and The Last Wine Bar and Restaurant.
