Lee Trench, 44, of no fixed abode, Great Yarmouth, appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court and was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

The order, which will last for five years, bans Trench from entering the Gapton Hall retail park in Great Yarmouth and any other retail premises listed on the Great Yarmouth Town Centre Exclusion Scheme Members List.

He was also banned from entering a specific residential area in South Yarmouth and from harassing other people.

This means he has to leave any shop in Great Yarmouth when asked to by members of staff or security.

A Norfolk police spokesman said: "For people who continue to commit offences such as retail theft or antisocial behaviour, officers will often gather evidence and build a case to seek court orders such as CBOs.

"Breaching a CBO is classed as a criminal offence, and therefore when reoffending takes place, police have further powers of arrest available to them."
