Detailed inspections of Feltwell Iron Bridge by Norfolk County Council officials found "significant weaknesses", bringing the load carrying capacity of the bridge into doubt.

It prompted them to introduce an emergency weight restriction banning vehicles weighing 7.5 tonnes or more from travelling across the bridge which crosses the River Ouse in the south west of the county.

However, that emergency restriction only runs until June next year and County Hall officials say members of the public have notified them that some drivers are........
