Call to scrap the £2m Norfolk by-election which MP says makes 'little sense'
Adrian Ramsay, Waveney Valley MP, urged the government to remove the requirement for a by-election to be held next month, which was triggered by the sudden resignation of Sarah Taylor, who had previously held the role.

Green MP Mr Ramsay contends the position's duties, including setting the annual police budget and publishing a police and crime plan, could be taken on by the police and crime panel, which consists primarily of councillors, instead.
The role is due to be axed within two years, with the police and crime commissioner's powers........
