Marine authorities are investigating the incident, which is believed to have taken place around two weeks ago.

Footage circulating online appears to show an unidentified shrimp or shellfish boat being pursued through the swell by two other vessels, before one veers sharply to ram its stern before the other then follows suit.

A man on board the craft which was struck, which is seen rolling to its port side after one of the impacts is heard to shout: "You are getting arrested buddy."
