Now plans to demolish it to make way for more than 100 new homes look set to be shot down.

Fenland councillors have been recommended to refuse plans to transform Fridaybridge Agricultural Camp at Friday Bridge, between Wisbech and Downham Market, when they meet on April 30.

Proposals included 102 new homes, a community building, a convenience shop and sports facilities.

But there have been objections over increased traffic on the A1101 which runs past the site, increased risk of flooding and the scheme's impact on local services such as........
