Go-ahead for work to preserve ruins of 700-year-old Norfolk church

Trustees of the St Margarets in Ruins Conservation Trust have been given the nod to carry out vital stabilisation works at the medieval St Margaret’s Church in West Raynham, near Fakenham.

Work will focus on preserving sections of the medieval structure, which dates back to the 14th century and has stood in ruins since the 1700s.

Plans agreed by North Norfolk District Council include putting up scaffolding, rebuilding and consolidating loose flint and stonework, protecting wall tops with racking, repointing, and conserving existing........
