National Gas Transmission (NGT) has been given permission for a temporary construction compound at North Runcton, near King's Lynn.

It says the land will be needed while it reroutes gas pipelines before work can begin on the West Winch Housing Access Road, which will allow thousands of new properties to be built and also bypass the Hardwick Roundabout, reducing congestion on the A10 south of Lynn.

But North Runcton Parish Council objected because the site will be accessed via........
