Transnational Terror Network in Balochistan

The killing of senior BLA commander Dr Abdul Rashid alias “Nokab” in Saravan, Iran, and the elimination of Afghan national BLA commander Naqeeb alias “Ameer” in Mastung demonstrate how terrorist networks exploit neighbouring territories, cross-border movement, and regional support structures to sustain operations against Pakistan. These neutralisations of senior Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) commanders demonstrate that terrorism in Balochistan is a transnational enterprise sustained by cross-border sanctuaries and foreign recruitment. Furthermore, overlapping claims of responsibility by the BLA, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and ISIS-K indicate a dangerous convergence of distinct factions within a shared terrorist ecosystem.

Cross-border terrorism in Balochistan is a regional security issue, and it must be addressed as such, with accountability for all those who harbour, fund and enable the banned terrorist groups.
