After moving to Tasmania in mid-2024, here are some things I wish I knew before I made the journey across the Bass Strait.
If you think the rain, wind and cool air means you won't get sunburnt living in Tasmania, think again.
Apparently a thinner ozone layer, less polluted air, and longer summer daylight makes the sun and UV rays more intense on the island.
This is information I learnt the hard way.
Although the intense burn I received after spending 20 minutes in the sun peeled for a week, I'm thankful for the lesson as living in Tasmania has inspired me to step up my sunscreen game, which includes never leaving the house without applying a thick layer to my skin.
