Self-righteous activists are ruining one of life's great pleasures
Does it strike you as odd that the much-loved statement "All men are created equal" was written in the USA when they most certainly were not? Ditto women. Nonetheless as an aspirational statement it is inspiring.

Some among us sadly just don't even aspire to it being deliverable. Prime among these thinkers are celebrity advocates.
Greta Thunberg is, for many, the most aggravating.
Good on her for being actively interested in the issues facing the world from a very young age.
There should be more kids interested in their future. But to imagine that a teenager is the person to be scolding the world by exclaiming through a somewhat tortured face "how dare you" is just stupid. She, or her minders, loved the publicity and a celebrity advocate was born.
We watched her tell us how bad fossil fuels were as she jetted and sailed about spewing them into the atmosphere.
Her case is interesting because with the climate change message having lost its freshness she moved on to Israel and Palestine.
She's now into the omni-cause where advocates believe all their issues are actually related in some way that seems incomprehensible to most of us. The inconsistencies are quite incredible. Some LGBTQIA advocates are Palestinian advocates, even though they'd find themselves in an extremely perilous situation should they ever choose to live among Palestinians.
Hadley Freeman is not complimentary: "if they weren't such raging narcissists, they'd read something other than their own tweets, the online version of masturbation."
Perhaps the most interesting question is how, or why, these seemingly disconnected people get so much media attention.
It's not as if a coherent view on the omni-cause has ever been offered.
How could one seriously link climate change, Hamas/Israel, trans rights ... and on the list goes.
Some activists aren't as carefree as the omni-cause crowd.
They actually have a coherent view. It may not be shared by everyone, but so what. The problem, however, is they tend to not only think their view is correct (don't we all) but they are not interested in exploring the issue any further.
If you don't agree with them, you are simply wrong. They're incapable of grasping........
