Get Out of the Charity Business

There are literally thousands of government-funded, charity-like programs that are fraught with opportunities for fraud--In my opinion, it is time to end the insanity;

Aside from what is going on in Iran today, the biggest news to come out of the Trump 47 administration is the reality that the federal and state governments are totally incompetent at managing charitable operations. For the first 175 years of America’s existence, charity was a local and church-based activity that well-served the American needy. During all that time there was minimal fraud because of local control and limited amounts of dollars involved.

For decades, fraud has been recognized as a problem in federal programs and largely ignored

Then in the 1960s, along comes “The Great Society” when the federal government and its co-conspirators in the states, start mucking around and usurping charitable activities from We the People. Nowhere in the United States Constitution is charity of any kind delegated to the United States government.
