Today, Oct. 2, 2026 is the Feast of the Guardian Angels, and the beginning of October, the month set aside for the celebration of Mary’s Holy Rosary.

Feast Day: The liturgical Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary falls on October 7.

History: Pope Saint Pius V established the feast in 1571 to thank the Blessed Virgin Mary for a safe Christian victory at the Battle of Lepanto.

Tradition: The Catholic Church dedicates the entire month to the Holy Rosary to encourage daily prayer, reflection on the life of Jesus, and intercession for world peace.

As for Today’s Feast of Guardian Angels, everyone has a God-assigned Guardian Angel, making this day a good time to profoundly thank Almighty God for His Gift to all of us down here on demon-ravaged troubled Earth.

This day takes me back to 15 years ago, when I received the most beautiful letter to ever come my way about an article I wrote about, ‘Chicago’s Rosary in the Sky’........
