Police seize nearly 20 illegal e-scooters as locals say 'it’s about time'
Officers confiscated 18 e-scooters and e-bikes from two Cambridge streets this week. The action formed part of enforcement efforts targeting privately-owned e-scooters, which are banned on public highways, footpaths, and cycling routes.
Five individuals received either warnings or guidance from officers. A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "The law currently permits the use of e-scooters only as part of government-approved rental trials or on private land with the landowner's permission.
