A year on, and more to come, writes Steven Broadbent, leader of Buckinghamshire Council.

Just over a year ago I clearly set out my ambitions for Buckinghamshire and its people including what residents could expect from this council. First and foremost, we said we would remain focussed on the everyday services people rely on and invest in the priorities residents told us matters most to them, ensuring Buckinghamshire Council runs responsibly amidst challenging and unpredictable financial times.

A year on and we have published our first Annual Report. It matters because it shows, in clear terms, just how much has already been delivered over the last 12 months – and why residents can be confident there is more to come.

People quite rightly judge us on results, not rhetoric. Are bins being collected? Are roads being fixed? Are children and vulnerable........
