Amid a growing talent shortage in Canada, employee data can be an invaluable tool for managing retention and engagement, says Matthew Coons, global head of employee experience at Xero.
While a certain degree of natural attrition is inevitable, spikes in employee turnover can signal a deeper cultural issue or corporate misalignment. “’Regrettable retention’ can come from a lack of clarity for employees and feeling like they’re not sure what the direction of the organization is or what is expected of them. They just feel this overall ambiguity in their role and their place in the organization, [which can be unsettling].”
