It's almost hold-your-breath-time again as the Arkansas Legislature prepares some 1,200 bills to drop in the hopper for next year's legislative session. In that raft of mostly worthless bills there are some that deserve to be passed that would improve our quality of life.

A lot of these proposals should have RIP stamped on them. The sources I checked said 1,200 to 1,500 bills can be expected to be filed in a legislative session. Most of them are just window dressing, and many of those serving in the Legislature would be shocked if even 20 percent became law.

I don't have the space to point out all the stupid legislative miscues that are taking up most of the time in the Ledge, such as regulating who uses restrooms. Hey, have one rest-room with locked stalls, like the Swiss do.
