Newsom: 'I Didn't Even Know' Home Had 5,000-Bottle Wine Cellar

Earlier this year, California Gov. Gavin Newsom — almost certain to soon be presidential candidate Gavin Newsom — tried to connect with the average person in the most pander-tastic way during a speech in Atlanta.

“I’m not trying to impress you, I’m just trying to impress upon you, ‘I’m like you. I’m no better than you.’ I’m a 960 SAT guy,” he said during an event with Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens.

“And I’m not trying to offend anyone,” Newsom added. “I’m not trying to act all there if you got 940. Literally a 960 SAT guy… I cannot — you’ve never seen me read a speech, because I cannot read a speech.”

Yes, he’s just like you. He can’t pull four digits on the SAT. He can’t read a speech. And he doesn’t even know he has a 5,000-bottle wine cellar in the basement of his $7.5 million mansion.
