Summer is around the corner, and the US needs more seasonal worker visas

If you go to just about any summer resort town, from the ocean towns in Maine to Mackinac Island in Michigan or to the working dude ranches in Montana, odds are you will see workers from Eastern Europe and Central America working in bars, restaurants, hotels, camps, and the like, providing services for American families.

Most likely, these are seasonal workers who come to the United States on what are called H-2B visas. The workers typically come for three to nine months on these temporary work permits and then go back home for the rest of the year, often returning in the following years.
