With the SAVE Act coursing through Congress, and the majority of Americans favoring a photo ID requirement to vote – including a majority of Democrats – the press continues to take the losing side with Democrats on this 80/20 issue.
Citing a group of policy "experts," they of course declare minorities will be most affected. Just ignore the past claims that made this identical promise with the Georgia voting reforms that led to record minority voter turnouts. This time, another voting base is said to be affected by the tighter rules to prove eligibility: Women.
See, the name change with taking a husband means they no longer match their birth certificate, so these poor ladies will be incapable of getting that squared away! We just have to ignore that all of this straightened out with their marriage license.
Also unstated is how these allegedly oppressive new mandates on women somehow strictly benefit Republicans.
If the Trump-back SAVE America Act passes, "millions of women whose married names aren't on their birth certificates or passports" would face extra barriers to voting.........
