Over the weekend, on NFL and World Junior Hockey telecasts, the federal government began running two new ads about their plan to “Build Canada strong.”

The ads are well done. If you saw one or both, perhaps they even pulled at your patriotic heartstrings a little. Maybe you thought, “Yeah, we can build great projects again, like the St. Lawrence Seaway!”

Frankly, I think the ads smack of Liberal Party of Canada campaign ads rather than public service announcements, but the bigger problem is they are horribly biased, regionally.

The government — the Liberal government — says Canada can build a strong economic future using Canadian workers, steel, lumber and technology. No problem there. Those are skills or commodities that are important to........
