The New Face of Antisemitism

Antisemitism has never been static. Throughout history, it has adapted to different societies, political movements, and historical periods, maintaining its fundamental characteristic: hostility toward Jews. However, today antisemitism takes less obvious forms than traditional hate speech. It often manifests as political discourse, selective anger, or the application of double standards that would be unacceptable in any other context.

As a writer with a Jewish heart, I have observed that many debates about Israel go beyond legitimate political criticism and begin to question the legitimacy of Jewish identity, Jewish autonomy, or the existence of the world’s only Jewish state. This shift deserves careful consideration because criticism of government policy and prejudice against an entire people are fundamentally different.
