Jewish antizionists and the Shoah
It is Yom HaShoah. The worldwide day of remembrance for the Holocaust. Each year survivors tell their stories. Fewer and fewer of them now. And each year that passes there is more and more Holocaust denial. But not only Holocaust denial, there is October 7 denial, Bondi denial. Jews are now routinely denied the right to be recognised as victims, either because the events didn’t occur or because they asked for it.
In the light of this, I was shocked to read in Kevin Deutsch’s substack that the Jewish Book Council has been attacked by Antizionist Jewish authors for giving too much weight to Israeli and Zionist authors and not platforming enough of the antizionists. This has come in circumstances in which Jewish and Zionist authors have routinely been excluded from the public square since October 7. Initially I was shocked by this.
