The weight of the right word
There is a moment most of us know well, even if we have never named it. Someone says something that needed to be said. The timing was right, the words were chosen carefully, and the intent was clear. Nobody felt attacked. Nobody felt diminished. The truth landed, and somehow the relationship came out stronger for it. You walked away thinking, that was exactly what I needed to hear.
Now think of the other kind of moment. Same truth, different delivery. Same intent, different timing. And suddenly, a conversation that could have built something instead broke it. The difference was not the truth itself. It was the how, the what, and the when.
