Ssangyong 2026 is the second joint military exercise with South Korea that the US has canceled or scaled back in a month.

The US Marine Corps has canceled its participation in this year’s Ssangyong (“Twin Dragons”) amphibious exercise with South Korea.

The official stated reason? Force and resource constraints associated with the ongoing Iran War.
