China-Pakistan’s New Chapter (Part 2)

As a pilot project of BRI cooperation, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has so far brought over 25.9 billion US dollars in direct investment, more than 260,000 jobs, over 8,000 megawatts of power generation capacity, 510 kilometres of expressways, and 886 kilometres of national core power transmission grids. It has injected robust impetus into Pakistan’s economic and social development, set an important benchmark for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and served as a vivid embodiment of the China-Pakistan community with a shared future.

Over the past 105 years, the CPC has consistently upheld the principle of building the Party with theories and strengthening it through theoretical education. In the important speech marking the anniversary of the founding of the CPC on 1 July, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that the CPC takes Marxism as a powerful ideological weapon for transforming both the subjective world and the objective world. It adheres to freeing the mind, seeking truth from facts, moving with the times, and taking a pragmatic and realistic approach. It pays close attention to revealing and applying truth in the midst of social contradictory movements, is adept at testing and developing truth through practice, and continuously guides new practice with new theories, thereby ensuring that the cause of the CPC and the people advances in the right direction.
