The launch of the Punjab Drug Management & Distribution System (PDMS) marks a defining moment for Pakistan's pharmaceutical industry. At a time when concerns over counterfeit medicines, weak supply chain oversight, undocumented drug movement, and regulatory inefficiencies continue to undermine public confidence, Punjab's decision to digitise the pharmaceutical distribution network could become one of the most consequential healthcare reforms in recent years. For decades, Pakistan's pharmaceutical supply chain has largely depended on fragmented manual documentation and paper-based records.
