The Pakistan Armed Forces and other law enforcement agencies may defend the country’s borders against external threats, but it is the Frontier Constabulary (FC) that bears the day-to-day burden. Tasked with patrolling, escort duties, anti-smuggling operations, and preventing incursions, the FC is often the first line of defence in the most difficult terrain. Yet, for far too long, this force has operated with little recognition and even less support, receiving lower salaries, older equipment, and fewer benefits than the military or elite counter-terrorism units.
