EDITORIAL - Rugby in MacHale Park a huge success
THERE were some eyebrows raised when it was first announced just before Christmas that Connacht Rugby where to play their BKT United Rugby Championship interprovincial clash with Munster in Castlebar in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park but last Saturday's clash was undoubtedly a huge success all round.
It has been a long time since the home of Mayo GAA has been packed to capacity and the atmosphere in and around the ground from early morning on Saturday was truly something to behold.
Connacht fans from all around the province travelled in huge numbers and so did the loyal Munster following to create an atmosphere that will be remembered by all those in attendance for a very long time to come.
Connacht Rugby really did pull out all the stops to make sure everything went smoothly on the day and the game itself did not disappoint with the home side staging a dramatic late comeback after Munster looked like they were going to run away with the game after an outstanding first half performance.
Professionalism
While the professionalism of Connacht Rugby had to be admired, there........
